171 - Bear Private Stock 1
One of the most unique and extraordinary guitars to come from the Bear Cave so far. An extraordinary Golden Camphor top on a Dorset sequoia redwood body.
The whole design and shape was created to make the most of the stunning grain and pattern in the wood, the guitar has handmade rosewood pickup surrounds and tailpiece specifically created for this guitar.
The 3 claw cutout was a moment of both inspiration and madness, a Bear claw come to life that consumed days of work to bring it to fruition, but well worth it. The body has been French polished with my own shellac varnishes, many months of work to truly honour the majesty of the grain in the wood.
A pair of handwound pickups by Ben Fletcher to specifically give this instrument its own unique voice, with a split coil option on the tone knob for the bridge humbucker to add another layer of tonal variation
Schaller bridge with a handmade rosewood tailpiece ensures the guitar is both vibrant and resonant. Hand carved headstock with a delicate brush of gold on the rosewood veneer, kluson tuners and Jescar gold frets
This guitar is a complete one off, a statement all by itself that will deliver a completely unique playing experience and sound, I am so proud of it
